Femme Lunatique’s inaugural project, One Art: lost and found
New art songs based on the poetry of Elizabeth Bishop, US Poet Laureate 1949-1950. American opera composer Paula Kimper has been commissioned to set the songs, and completed the first song, One Art, in 2014. On December 11 2014, One Art received its premiere reading at the National Opera Center in New York. Read more about the project here:
Ultimately, the composition will be completed to comprise a group of three songs, which will be premiered as part of a full recital programme, on both sides of the Atlantic, and recorded for CD and download. Casabianca and One Art are now complete, and the final song of the group, Objects & Apparitions, is in progress.
In order to support this multi-faceted project, Femme Lunatique Productions will be conducting a crowd-funding campaign in the coming months. Please check this website for updates!
